The Basics

Home Screen

The home screen that all players have (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Avatar and Spirit

They are the icons in the top left corner. The avatar is the character you create, and the Spirit is the pet you receive in the game after Quest 14, which helps you in battle. Tapping on these will allow you to change both of their outfits, clothes for the avatar and the animal for the Spirit (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”). On the avatar, you can also change the name, message, and title. For the Spirit, you can change its name and gear (medals to strengthen it), and you can see its tricks, which help you in battle like reviving you, boosting damage, dealing damage alongside you, etc. (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Lux

The first blue bar on the top of the screen, Lux is the resource you collect from battles that helps you level up. The number above tells you how much more you need to reach the next level. And the level you’re on is to the left of it (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”).

Ability Points (AP)

The yellow bar in the center on top of the screen, AP allows you to play the multiple levels in the game and is the ‘free-to-play’ element of the game. It varies on each level. When you use them, it takes three minutes to refill one AP (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”). To increase the number, you have to buy them on the Avatar Boards (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Jewels

To the right of the AP bar, jewels are the ‘pay-to-win’ element of the game. You are given some daily for logging in, completing quests and events, and occasionally as gifts during important dates and holidays, like Christmas and the recent release of Kingdom Hearts 3 (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”).  You can use them to buy new medals/attacks from the shop and for premium avatar boards (Kingdom Hearts Union X {Cross]).

Chat

The speech bubble icon on the top right is the Chat feature. Here, you are able to talk with the other members of your team. Whatever you write is sent to everyone. If there’s an exclamation point showing, there is a new message (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”).

Menu

The Menu button in the far top right corner gives a dropdown menu of what is already on screen. The only exception is the Other option. When Other is selected, you get another menu with more options. They range from seeing your news, union transfer, a theater to watch cutscenes, and frequently asked questions (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Missions

The Mission button is right under your level. Here, you can complete daily, weekly, and monthly missions to win rewards. The rewards are jewels and Spirit parts (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Lux Boost

The Lux Boost button helps you to gain more Lux for each battle won. It provides a 5% boost in the total Lux you earn for one hour. If you join a team, the max number of people allowed is thirty. If everyone does this, then there would be a 150% boost in Lux. You can use it only once per day, renews at midnight (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Quest Menu

Special – quests that are available only on specific days of the week. You can get medals that will strengthen your attack medals and materials to strengthen your weapon.

Events – temporary events that only appear for a set amount of days before they disappear. You can get jewels or exclusive medals. Check this daily so you don’t miss anything.

Union Cross – multiplayer quests. You can join with members of your team or other players. You can unlock avatar parts and medals to strengthen your attack medals.

Coliseum – quests where you can test your strength. The Player Vs. Event feature allows you to fight enemies to gain Coliseum Coins to buy rewards exclusive to the month-long event. The Player Vs. Player feature allows you to fight another player to move up in the ranks for rewards. It resets every Tuesday (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”).

Equipment

The Equipment button in the bottom left on the home screen takes you to where you can edit and strengthen your weapons, which are called Keyblades. From the menu shown in the picture, you can put different medals into the slots to increase your attack and defense. Each medal has a different attack, so it is important to know where to put what medal (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Avatar Boards

The Avatar Boards button to the right of Equipment allows you to buy parts for your avatar. They can be clothing styles and hairstyles. You can buy them with either jewels or avatar coins that you gain in story quests. Other than clothes, you can buy other upgrades for your character, like more health, more AP, and more space in your Keyblades to place medals in. You can also obtain medals through these boards (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Banner

In the bottom middle of the home screen, the Banner tells players news updates. It can only show you five at a time. The updates can be about new events added to the Quests or new medal deals in the Shop (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Shop

The Shop (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).
The Shop button in the bottom right of the home screen is where you can buy medals, space for medals, and extra jewels. Medals and the additional space are purchased with jewels only, in the shop. Jewels can be obtained by real money in the shop or by playing the game. While there are only two medals shown in the picture, there are more below (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Presents

This button to the right of the Shop button is where you can receive the gifts you’ve obtained. They are mostly from your daily login, but the development team sometimes gives gifts during holidays and special events. You have only thirty days to redeem them before you lose them (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).

Warning Sign

A warning that a raid boss is active (Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]).
This red warning sign only appears when a team member has died while fighting a Raid Boss, the toughest enemy in the game. When you choose “Active Request,” you can then select which raid boss is active. When you help fight, you get raid boss coins to use on the raid boss board, similar to the avatar boards (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”).
