Jewels

Jewels are a resource that is used to buy many items in the game, the most important being medals (for new attacks) and premium avatar boards (for new clothes). They can be called the “pay to win resource” because you can buy them with real money from the game’s shop, which is the easiest way to get jewels (“KHUX ~ For Beginners”). They can be hard to gather, but there are some easy ways of gathering them without buying them if you can save them for later use.

Daily Login Bonuses

daily login
Login bonuses (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).
As the name suggests, you are rewarded for each day that you play the game. There are rewards for daily logins and total logins. You are given jewels for each day and the amount increases each day. There are five days in the cycle. On days one and two, you get 100 jewels each. On days three and four, 200 each. Day five is 300. You can receive a total of 900 jewels in five days. The daily login bonus begins again after the five days. However, if you miss a day in the middle of this, then you begin on day one. It’s still free jewels though.

The total login in bonus gives you rewards according to the total days played. The rewards can be either titles you can give to your character or jewels. As shown in the picture above, you will get 500 jewels when you play for a total of 500 days. There are more rewards given prior to and after this.

To receive these jewels, you will need to access the Presents button on the home screen (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

Quests

There are many quests that give you jewels as rewards. Just remember that you earn them when you complete the quest, whether it’s 100% or not. You can’t redo the same quest and earn any more jewels.

You will be told in the Notices about the temporary “Event” quests that give a certain amount as a reward. The event will leave in a set time and are more difficult than regular quests, so complete them as best as you can. For example, let’s say an event that gives a total of 1,000 jewels and has five quests. An objective that you must complete for each one can give you 200. Even if you only complete three, you still earned 600 jewels. To go there, select Quests then Events (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

There are some jewels you can purchase with cross coins when you participate in the “Union Cross” quests.  Here, you work with other players to complete objectives to earn cross coins. For instructions on how to access this, see the pictures above. From the quests start menu, you can tap on “Cross Board” to view what you can buy with those coins. They work just like the avatar boards. Some of the boards have jewels on them, and buying each jewel node gets you ten jewels. There can be eight jewel nodes in all, so that means eighty jewels (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

jewels story

You can also earn jewels as you progress through the story quests. The pattern is that you can earn 250 jewels every fifth quest. This means you can earn jewels on quests 5; 10; 15; etc. However, as player Zackary Deyarmin has seen, that is not always the case. He said that the further you are in the story, the pattern becomes more random. Unfortunately, he does not know the new pattern (Deyarmin).

The Proud Mode Story quests follow the same pattern as mentioned in the paragraph above. The difference is that you only receive 150 jewels per five quests. Proud Mode is more difficult to complete as it has restrictions, like using a specific Keyblade and which medal special attacks can be used. View the rules, then prepare. To access this mode, go to Quests on the home screen. Next, choose Story.  Then tap on the red button that says “Proud Mode.” In order to see the mission’s rules, select “Begin.” From there, you will see a flashing box with “CONDITION” at the top. It will tell you which medals can use their special attack (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

Missions

The Missions button appears right under your level on the home screen. While there are three types of missions (daily, weekly, and monthly), the daily and weekly missions reward you with jewels.

There are ten daily missions and are easy to complete. Some examples are finishing three quests, battling in three player vs. player quests, and collecting a certain amount of Lux. Each mission has a reward of thirty jewels. This means there is a total of 300 jewels to obtain each day.

weekly mission
Weekly missions (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).
There are also ten weekly missions, but they are harder to complete. Fortunately, these missions can be completed by the combined efforts of your party. Some examples are defeating a certain amount of raid bosses, completing Cross Union quests, and obtaining a party total of a certain amount of Lux. Each mission has 100 jewels, with a total of 1,000 per week. The week begins on Monday and ends on the following Monday.

In order to collect the jewels when the missions are completed, tap on the Missions button then on “Collect All” (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

Gifts

The Square Enix development team does give free jewels every so often. The most common gift given is when they take the game down temporarily for maintenance. They also give gifts for special events and holidays. The most recent was for Christmas 2018 and the release of Kingdom Hearts III. To receive these jewels, you will need to access the Presents button on the home screen (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

Avatar Boards

Jason Abrams, another player, found that you can receive jewels in the avatar boards. When he reached level 350, he unlocked an avatar board that gave him 5,000 jewels. He then did his own research and found that after level 300, you will receive this reward every time you go up fifty levels (Abrams).

What Not To Buy With Jewels

There are three different items where you do not want to waste your jewels: inventory expansion, refilling the Special Attack gauge, and on “continues” when you die in a quest (“Best way to spend and save Jewels”).

You do not have to spend all of your jewels on expanding your medal inventory. While it is encouraged to do it from time to time, there are other ways of making space for more medals. You can sell medals for munny, especially the Moogle medals (it’s the only thing they are good for). You can also sell very weak medals that you can find during the story quests, like the Version A’s of Donald and Goofy. Pictures of these medals appear below. You can also strengthen your medals if you’re able to. There are times where the game will have a special sale on inventory space. It normally costs 100 jewels for five additional spaces. During the sale, the cost is half (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).

You never have to spend any jewels on refilling the Special Attack Gauge. It will refill after you defeat enemies, open orange treasure chests, and use a medal with a special attack that refills it.

If you die in a quest, it is better to leave and come back better prepared. It costs 100 jewels to continue, which is a waste if you’re saving for a strong medal. If your medals weren’t strong enough, strengthen them or replace them on your Keyblade for stronger ones. If you forgot to use a special attack, you will remember next time. Again, it’s better to save your jewels than waste them (Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross]).
